Betting Rules
The rules that decide how a bet is accepted, how a market settles, and what happens when something goes wrong.
Effective from 1 July 2026 · Last reviewed July 2026
1. General
- These rules form part of the Terms and Conditions. Where a specific market rule conflicts with a general rule, the specific rule applies.
- All prices are decimal and include the stake. A price of 2.50 returns $2.50 for each $1 staked when it succeeds.
- A bet exists only once it is confirmed on screen and appears in your account history.
- Markets close at the scheduled start of the event. We do not offer in-play betting.
- Times shown on the site are Brisbane time (AEST) unless stated otherwise.
2. Acceptance and refusal
We may refuse a bet in whole or in part. Common reasons are a stake above the limit we hold for that market, a customer restriction already in place, an event that has started, or a price that is obviously wrong. Where a bet is accepted in part, the balance of the stake is returned immediately.
3. Palpable errors
A palpable error is an obvious mistake in a price or a market — a transposed figure, a runner priced at 100 when the market is 1.00, a handicap posted the wrong way round. Where a palpable error is established we may void the bet and return the stake, or settle at the price that was generally available elsewhere at the time the bet was placed. We do not use this rule to void a bet simply because it won.
4. Racing
4.1 Fixed odds
Racing prices on this site are fixed odds. The price you take is the price that settles, regardless of later market moves or the tote dividend.
4.2 Scratchings and deductions
A bet on a runner scratched before the start is refunded in full. Where a runner is scratched after fixed-odds markets were formed, deductions may be applied to the remaining runners in proportion to the scratched runner's price at the time of the scratching, in line with standard Australian deduction scales.
4.3 Place terms
| Starters at the jump | Places paid |
|---|---|
| 8 or more | First, second and third |
| 5, 6 or 7 | First and second |
| 4 or fewer | Win only — place bets are refunded |
Place terms are set on the number of runners that actually start, not the number declared the day before.
4.4 Dead heats
Where two or more runners dead heat, the stake is divided by the number of runners dead heating for that placing and settled at the full price on the divided stake. The remainder of the stake is lost.
4.5 Protests, disqualifications and abandonment
Markets settle on the placings declared by the stewards after any protest is heard. If we have already paid out and the result is subsequently amended, accounts are re-settled to the corrected result. A meeting abandoned before a race is run means all bets on that race are refunded. A race transferred to another track or surface stands unless the controlling body declares otherwise.
4.6 Non-runners in multi-race bets
Where a leg of a multiple contains a non-runner, that leg is settled at 1.00 and the remaining legs stand.
5. Sport
5.1 Head to head
Settled on the result at the end of regulation time, plus any period the competition treats as part of the match (golden point in the NRL, extra time in AFL finals). Where the competition does not provide for a decider and the match is drawn, two-way head to head markets are refunded.
5.2 Line and handicap
The handicap is applied to the final score. Where the adjusted result is exactly level, the market is refunded. Handicaps are fixed at the time of your bet and are not adjusted afterwards.
5.3 Totals
Settled on the combined score of both sides at the end of the match, including any period counted for head to head. Where the total lands exactly on the posted number, the market is refunded.
5.4 Venue changes, postponements and abandonments
- A change of venue does not void markets unless the fixture is reversed to the opponent's home ground.
- A fixture postponed and played within 48 hours of the scheduled start stands. Beyond that, markets are void.
- An abandoned fixture with no official result means markets are void and stakes returned.
5.5 Named participants
In tennis and other individual sports, a market is void if a named participant does not start. Retirement or disqualification after the match has begun is settled under the competition rule where one exists, and otherwise voided.
6. Multiples
A multiple requires every leg to succeed. Legs that are void are settled at 1.00. Related contingencies — outcomes that depend on each other — are not accepted in the same multiple, and where one is accepted in error the bet may be voided.
7. Settlement, errors and re-settlement
We aim to settle within thirty minutes of an official result. Where a settlement error is identified — ours or a data provider's — the account is corrected to the position it should have been in. Where a correction leaves a negative balance, we contact you before taking any step.
8. Limits
Maximum payout and maximum stake limits apply and vary by market. Where a bet would exceed the payout limit, the payout is capped at that limit. Limits are shown at the point of bet placement where they apply to your selection.
9. Disputes
If you disagree with a settlement, contact us within 30 days with the bet reference. Our complaints process sets out how the matter is escalated, including to the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation where we cannot resolve it with you.
