We do not charge a fee for depositing. Your bank may charge its own fee, particularly for international cards, and that is outside our control.

Why credit cards are not accepted

Australian law prohibits the use of credit cards, credit-linked digital wallets and other forms of credit for online wagering. The rule exists because betting with borrowed money is one of the clearest routes to serious harm. A digital wallet linked to a credit card will be declined even where the wallet itself is supported, because the underlying funding source is credit.

We also do not lend. There is no line of credit, no deferred settlement, and no arrangement under which a bet can be placed against funds you do not hold.

Deposit limits

Every deposit is checked against the deposit limit on your account. Once the limit for the period is reached, further deposits are declined until the period resets — no alternative route is offered and our staff cannot override it. See deposit limits.

Verification before funding

An account must pass identity and age verification before it can be funded. If a deposit is attempted on an unverified account it is declined and no charge is made. Verification is usually electronic and takes a few minutes; where documents are needed we ask for them in writing.

Whose money can be used

The payment method must be in your own name. Depositing with someone else's card or account is a breach of our Terms and Conditions and of anti-money laundering law, and it will result in the deposit being reversed and the account being reviewed.

Failed and declined deposits

A declined deposit is most often a bank decision — a daily card limit, a gambling block set on the card, or a mismatch between the card name and the account name. Many Australian banks offer a gambling block on debit cards; if you have enabled one, it will stop deposits here, and we will not ask you to remove it.

Currency

All accounts are held in Australian dollars. Deposits made in another currency are converted by your bank at its own rate, and any conversion cost is charged by the bank rather than by us.

Withdrawals

Log in, open your account, choose withdraw, and enter the amount. The destination defaults to the method you deposited from. There is no fee, and there is no minimum other than the amount available in your account.

Where the money goes

Withdrawals are returned to the source of your deposit wherever that is possible — the same debit card, or the same bank account used for PayID or BPAY. Where the source cannot receive funds, payment is made to a bank account held in your own name. We cannot pay a third party under any circumstances.

Processing times

Requests made after 4pm AEST, on a weekend or on a Queensland public holiday are processed on the next business day. The time taken after we release the payment is set by the banks, not by us.

What can delay a withdrawal

  • Verification not complete. Identity and age must be verified before funds leave the account.
  • A mismatch in names. The destination account must be in the same name as the betting account.
  • Pending deposits. Funds must have cleared before they can be withdrawn.
  • An open review. Where we are required to review a transaction under anti-money laundering obligations, the withdrawal is held until that review closes.
  • Unsettled bets. Money staked on a market that has not settled is not part of your available balance.

No reverse withdrawals

We do not offer a "reverse withdrawal" feature. Once you have asked for money to be paid out, it is paid out. Reversal features exist to keep money inside the account, and we have chosen not to have one.

Closing your account

Email support@upcoz.co from the address on your account with "close my account" in the subject, or use the closure control on your account page. You do not need to give a reason, and we will not ask for one.

  • The account is closed to new bets immediately.
  • Open bets are left to settle under the normal betting rules.
  • Your available balance is paid to the source of your deposits, or to a bank account in your own name.
  • Marketing stops, and your details are removed from campaign lists.
  • You receive written confirmation once everything has settled and the balance has been paid.

Closure is not self-exclusion. A closed account can be reopened later if you ask; a self-exclusion cannot, and it is enforced against any new account you try to open. If your reason for closing relates to your gambling, choose self-exclusion instead — it is the stronger protection and it costs you nothing extra.

We keep account, transaction and verification records for at least seven years after closure, because anti-money laundering law and our licence conditions require it. That obligation overrides a request to delete the data, and it is explained in our Privacy Policy. Marketing data is deleted on closure.

Dormant accounts

Where an account has no activity for twelve months we contact you at the details we hold. Any balance remains yours, and unclaimed money is dealt with under the applicable unclaimed money legislation rather than retained by us.
